Mrs. Ellie Mae Garvine, age 72, of Bonifay, Florida, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away February 9, 2025, at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in Panama City, Florida. She was born March 25, 1952, in Buchanan County, Virginia to the late Lonnie Oliver Brown and Vernie Agnes Keen Brown. In addition to her parents, Ellie was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Lynn Cantara and one sister, Zell Sue Cole.
Ellie found great happiness in gardening, tending to her flowers and plants with care. She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs and birds, who were always by her side. She cherished long phone conversations with her family, sharing stories, laughter, and love across the miles. Receiving pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she delighted in staying connected with loved ones through social media, often sharing heartfelt and humorous memes.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and connection will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Mrs. Garvine is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wayne Garvine; two children, Joseph Johnson and wife Jennifer and April Johnson; six grandchildren, Roman Neri, Christian Johnson, Delaney Green, Emerald Green, Carliegh Johnson, and Memphis Cantara; four great-grandchildren, Violet Neri, Liana Neri, Dylan Johnson, and Halee Carpenter; six siblings, Mary Louise Mullins, Kathren Maeline Allen, Judie Ellen Mullins, Dellie Marie Meadows, Dorothy Gaynell Ham, and Lonnie Wayne Brown; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorialization will be by cremation with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements.
