Mr. James Earl Vinson, age 74, of Sunny Hills, Florida a devoted family man and hardworking soul, passed away March 6, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 16, 1950, in West Bay, Florida to the late Elbie Vinson and Myrtle Lee Davis Vinson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vinson was preceded in death by one son, James Adam Vinson, and one sister, Ethel Tetreault.
James found his greatest happiness on his hobby farm, caring for his animals—pigs, cows, and chickens. Whether tending to his land or simply enjoying the outdoors, he cherished the peace and fulfillment that farm life brought him. His strong work ethic was evident throughout his career with the Bay County Solid Waste Division and respected by his colleagues for his skill and commitment. He was known as an above-average heavy equipment operator by anyone who knew him.
Beyond his work, James was a man of faith and deeply loved his church, Sunny Hills Assembly of God, where he found fellowship and spiritual strength. His presence, kindness, and unwavering belief will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind cherished family and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Though he has left this earth, his legacy of hard work, love for nature, and faith in God will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Mr. Vinson is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deborah L. Vinson; one son, Robert Edward Vinson; one granddaughter, Cierra Lauren Vinson; three sisters, Louise Whitehead, Linda Willingham and husband Ronnie Jack, and Martha Anglyn; three sisters-in-law, Betty Jean Willingham, Rebecca Ann Turner, and Gretchen Hardeman and husband Jack; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Sunny Hill Assembly of God Church with Rev. Nixon Miller officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements.
