Ms. Katherine Ethel Ray, age 70, of Bonifay, Florida passed away October 16, 2023, at her home. She was born October 17, 1952, in Hamlin, West Virginia to the late Suard Eugene McCormick and Vada Avenell Spears McCormick. In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by one daughter, Stacey Miller, three grandchildren, Candice Knight, Chassidy Johnson, and Matthew Carnley, and three brothers, Asa McCormick, Stephen Garry McCormick, and David McCormick.
Ms. Ray is survived by four children, Donald Knight and wife Becky of Rome, MI, Tonya Castle and husband Frank of Brighton, MI, William Knight and wife Valorie of Parrish, FL, and Jennifer Yancey and husband Bryan of Bonifay, FL; two brothers, Richard McCormick of Hillsdale, MI and Eugene McCormick of Atlanta, MI; eight grandchildren, Mackenzie Knight, Emerald Fox, Andrew Fox, Sebastian Fox, Ty Knight, Jayden Shoates, William Yancey, and Hannah Miller; two great-grandchildren, McKenna Webb and Ellowyn Webb; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 19, 2023, at New Hope Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 AM Thursday, at New Hope Baptist Church. Peel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
