Ms. Myrtle Lee Thompson Brown, age 90, of Bonifay, Florida passed away October 5, 2024, at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab in Bonifay. She was born February 22, 1934, in Hartford, Alabama to the late Richard Monroe Thompson and Bessie Shipes Thompson. In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Brown, one brother, Valton Thompson, two sisters, Louise Eldridge and Lois Bass, and two brothers-in-law, Robert Taylor and Doyle Smothers.
Ms. Brown is survived by four children, Donnie Brown and wife Tammy of Bonifay, FL, Donald Brown and wife Amanda of Panama City, FL, Anna Harris of Bonifay, FL, and Douglas Brown and wife Lynn of Tallahassee, FL; three brothers, Buddy Thompson and wife Dianne, Doyle Thompson and wife Ann, and Floyd Thompson; two sisters, Norma Smothers and Hazel Taylor; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM at Peel Funeral Home.
