It is with broken hearts that we have to announce the passing of our deeply loved Wife, Mother, Granny and Gigi.
Shirley S. Seletas was born in February 1937 to Lucy Mae Scott. She was born and raised in Tazewell, Virginia until meeting the love of her life Samuel Seletas, Jr. They were married in Dillon, South Carolina in November 1956. Shirley was a dedicated Army wife for 23 years. Shirley and Sam then retired to Panama City /Lynn Haven, Florida where she worked for the Grants, Gayfers, and Dillards. She met and maintained very close friendships with many of her co-workers. One group of close friends (better known as the Monday Morning Coffee Group) met for more than 25 years. Shirley never met a stranger. She had a gift for being able to befriend every stranger she ever met.
Shriley’s greatest joy was receiving photographs of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved being an active member of the Lynn Haven Senior Activity Club. The love and support from her dear friends were there with her and Sam until her passing. We are eternally grateful for each and every visit from all of her friends.
We are extremely grateful for all the support and care from Superior Residences of Panama City Beach, VITAS Healthcare (Hospice), and Bay County Caregivers. You were each there in our hour of need.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Sam. Her daughter Kathryn, and son Samuel (Sheryl), grandchildren Jonathan (Dana), Jennifer (Micah), Jessica (Dale), and Bryan (Olivia), great grandchildren Marc, Riley, Sophia, Amelia, Atlas and Vivienne. Dear cousins, nephew, niece, and countless cherished friends.
As per Shirley's request, she will be cremated without any service. She will be placed by her family at her preselected resting place.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer's Association, or the Lynn Haven Senior Activity Club in Shirley's name.
